WNU DNA: Meet the Materials

Meet the fabrics behind the WNU shirts you love…. 4 different natural fabrics with which we make our UK designed shirts; Brushed, Linen, Poplin and Weave.

With the highest quality materials, we ensure our shirts are not only timeless in their style but also have longevity, ensuring both your shirt and your style will stand the test of time.

The Poplin fabric is the original, classic tailored shirt. Crisp with clean lines and smooth to touch, this style is light and elegant.

DNA: 100% cotton, Poplin, is a plain-weave cotton fabric with very fine horizontal “ribs” or yarns, that results in a strong, crisp fabric with a silky, lustrous surface.

Wear me: With the top button undone in the office, with the crisp collar visible over zoom meetings or channel day-to-day tailoring with jeans.

The Linen fabric is an effortless dream. It’s loose weave and breathable nature compliments WNU’s oversized style perfectly, making this comfortable shirt both easy and cool to wear.

DNA: 100% Organic Linen. Linen is a durable natural fibre derived from the flax plant – it is famously light whilst remaining strong, making it perfect for long lasting clothing.

Wear me: Thrown over a bikini on holiday, wear it relaxed at a summer brunch or when al fresco dining.

The Weave fabric is the perfect cotton and linen blend; this soft, easy texture is perfect for layering and can be worn all year round. The Weave is effortlessly timeless.

DNA: 50% Linen and 50% cotton – the perfect love child of our Poplin and Linen. The Weave combines the cool feel of linen with the softness of cotton – and slightly thicker than them both.

Wear me: With versatility from work to dinner out in town, pull over your shoulders on warm summer evenings outside or under a jacket in the cooler months.

The Brushed fabric is the ultimate cosy shirt, which is sumptuously soft to touch and slightly thicker than our other styles.

DNA: The cotton undergoes a brushing process with fine metal brushes carefully rubbing the fabric to produce fine fibres from the woven yarns, creating extra softness on the surface of the fabric. Cotton can be gently brushed on both sides to make it soft to the touch and extra cosy.

Wear me: In the evening around the campfire after a salty day at the beach, throw on for walk in the countryside or for everyday stylish comfort.
