A feminine iteration of the classic workwear staple, the WNU Girlfriend shirt combines a slightly loose fit with exquisite tailoring, designed to create a flattering and flirty fit for the women who wear it. The first collection WNU ever launched was in the Poplin material and it has been a bestseller and considered a wardrobe essential ever since.
The WNU Girlfriend shirt is designed to sit just off your shoulder and is cut just away from the body. It has a short body with side vents, single button cuffs and comes available in both a collared and collarless option.
MATERIALS
Poplin is a plain-weave cotton which has a crisp and smooth finish to touch. The fabric itself is of a durable, medium weight making it a popular choice for men’s and women’s shirts - in particular work shirts - as it means it has longevity and can be worn time and time again. SOURCING
We source and weave all of our fabrics in our factory based in Portugal, which is then sent to another Portugal-based, family-run factory who hand make our shirts. In line with our Sustainability Statement and brand values, both factories have been audited to ensure that they uphold the highest standard of working ethics. Once the shirts are made, they are then shipped to our warehouse in Kent where each order is personally packaged for each customer.
STYLING
The Girlfriend Poplin shirts can easily lend themselves to smarter environments as they pair perfectly with an equally well tailored pair of trousers, or suit, with the whole look being perfectly finished off with a heel or loafer. If your R.S.V.P is more casual though, you can swap out the shoes for a pair of white trainers or change completely, going for your failsafe blue denim jeans.
