Our bestselling Weave material is all about easy elegance, combining the cool feel of linen with the softness of cotton to create a shirt you never want to take off.
This is WNU’s exclusive and most versatile fabric in our flirty modern shape: The Girlfriend Weave. The love child of our Poplin and Linen collections, this fabric is loosely woven together to create a lightweight, soft shirt that you will want to wear all through the day and through all the seasons.
Whilst taking inspiration from classic shirt tailoring, our shirts have been perfectly adjusted for a flattering and feminine fit on women making them appear effortless, as if you have thrown the shirt on without any thought. Our girlfriend shirts are characterised by the cut, which sits just off the shoulder, with a short body that has side vents and the shorter, single buttoned cuffs.
This woven linen and cotton was designed by WNU to create the most versatile fabric in our collection, that can be worn all year round (and trust us, you’ll want to). Combining the lightweight feel and durability of Linen with cotton’s softness, the shirt can easily go from casual to smart, and season to season. The material is easy to iron for a nice pressed finish, but, as it has the linen element woven in, you can consider ironing as optional with this one. To weave and sew our shirts we use two factories that are both based in the same town in Portugal; we chose to work with these factories in particular as they both hold exemplary working and ethical standards, which are core to WNU’s values and our efforts to be as sustainable as we can be. The cotton and linen fabrics are woven together to create our Weave shirts, which are then sent out to our Kent-based warehouse in the UK, where all of our customer’s orders are sent from.
The Weave is our customer's favourite fabric choice from WNU. Why is it so popular? That’s down to its versatility as an item. We always aim to create shirts that can be worn for years and adapt to the woman you are and how you want to wear it - no shirt does this better than the Weave. For example, it can easily be worn in the warmer months, open over a vest with a pair of jeans and backless loafers or slides, or for cooler seasons layer it under a trench or woollen blazer.
