THE BACKSTORY
Every shirt, trouser and blazer in our collection is crafted in the spirit of British tailoring traditions and with the confidence that these pieces lift every look. So, we knew we needed a final layer that ties it all together.
CRAFTED TO STAND OUT
Distilling heritage British outerwear into something unmistakably unique, the Chatsworth is shaped by the trench coat and the car coat – yet refuses to be either.
With a detachable neck strap, a length that universally flatters, a minimalist single-breast closure and cut in heritage fabrics, this coat borrows only the best from both.
FABRICS FOR EVERY SEASON
The cotton coat in dark stone is the perfect transseasonal staple, designed to slip over any outfit and perform in rain or shine.
Cut to just below the knee in Italian cotton, it’s drizzle-proof for the months ahead. From the outside, it’s clean-cut, minimalist, modern. But when the wind catches it, there’s a flash of tradition tucked underneath with its 100% organic cotton lining in the body, whilst the sleeve lining comes in super soft cupro.
THE STORY BEHIND THE STAPLE
Drawing on traditional masculine tailoring is firmly in our DNA, so we designed our coat as an homage to two archetypes of men’s weatherwear: the car coat and the trench coat.
The original trench coat arose from military utility, offering weatherproof gabardine fabric, storm flaps, epaulettes and belted waists for WW1 officers. Meanwhile, the car coat, designed for open-top motors and rough roads, was cut to a shorter length, with simplified closures and a minimal structure for unrestricted movement.
In the Chatsworth, the car coat silhouette combines with the detailing of a trench to create something both engineered and elegant for the modern woman.
