WNU Women: PIPPA LAMB

To celebrate the launch of WNU’s Fine Poplin collection, Founder & CEO Pip Durell collaborated with renowned fashion stylist and photographer Cathy Kasterine to shoot a portrait series of women who inspire the brand, shot and interviewed in their WNU.

Pippa Lamb is a Partner at Sweet Capital, an early stage investment fund, where she champions women - 80% of her angel portfolio is female founded business - and focuses on technology investments. In 2021, UK TechNews named Lamb as one of the top 12 most powerful female VCs in UK Tech.

The Interview:

My name is Pippa Lamb and I am a Venture Capitalist.

How do you wear your WNU?

I love wearing plain white shirts with jeans. I love wearing them for a more formal board meeting and I love wearing them around the house.

What do you wish you'd known before you started?

I think that it's ok not to know the answer, to ask for help and say “I’m looking to learn” and “please help me”.

Is there one woman in particular who has impacted your career?

You know I was really fortunate to grow up in a world where there were a lot of important women around me. I had a very strong Mother who worked, she was a doctor from as long as I can remember. I had a very strong willed Grandmother and of course there was a female Prime Minister and a female Monarch for a lot of my childhood, so I think I was always surrounded by women who led and it never struck that women couldn’t and shouldn’t lead.

What is your New Year resolution?

I want to spend more time with nature.

What would you have said to your younger self?

I think it's important to always challenge yourself to take the harder path and say where am i going to learn the most and how is this going to build me for the future.

What are your goals for 2024?

My goals for 2024 are to try and work with the best entrepreneurs in the world, and meet them just as they are starting their new businesses and try and support them through the early stages of their company.
