WNU Women: VENETIA ARCHER

To celebrate the launch of WNU’s Fine Poplin collection, Founder & CEO Pip Durell collaborated with renowned fashion stylist and photographer Cathy Kasterine to shoot a portrait series of women who inspire the brand, shot and interviewed in their WNU.

Venetia Archer is the founder of Ruuby App - an on-demand beauty and wellness services platform -, is a board adviser for the British Beauty Council, and was on Forbes' 2017 30 under 30 list.

The Interview:

My name is Venetia Archer and I am the Founder and CEO of Ruuby, the UK’s leading on demand beauty services platform.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business because I really really wanted to use an app like that. Who wouldn’t want an app where you could book someone to your house to do your hair at 7am?

How do you wear your WNU?

I love wearing my WNU with denim, a trainer and honestly that's all I need.

What do you wish you'd known before you started?

I wish I’d known how long it was going to take. Someone told me it takes at least five years to set up a business, and now 8 years on I know they were telling the truth

Is there one woman in particular who has impacted your career?

It's not one person, it's all of the amazing women around me. Those who have set up businesses, those who are earlier than me in the journey, those who are later than me in the journey, and um they’re really my tribe and I would be nowhere without them.

What is your New Year resolution?

So my new year's resolution is different to what it has been in the past, but it is to rest more.

What would you have said to your younger self?

I would say have courage in your convictions because you really know what's right even if you don't think you do.

What are your goals for 2024?

I want to visit South Korea, I want to go to Seoul. I want to launch my first international city. And I want to get one night of at least 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
