WNU WEAR: Put the dress away, this is how to style a shirt for the party season.

Nothing to wear to your next festive event?

Try With Nothing Underneath.

Between your friends, your family, the in-laws, your colleagues and the people you only see bi annually - some time around summer and again at Christmas, naturally - you end up feeling like you almost need a personal assistant to manage your December social calendar. And for your next hire? A stylist.

Though the dress code may range, there still always is one, as well as the pressure to put your best foot forward.
In this situation it can be easy to default to a sparkly dress.
(Guilty).

However this festive season, we wanted to play dress up with our shirts. Because yes, we have them for work, going out and the everyday, but to truly prove how versatile they are in your wardrobe, we’ve styled them as partywear. Let us know if you’re inspired…

The Work Christmas Party

Ah - notoriously a tricky night. You cannot guarantee that it will be a success, that there will be a free bar or who will cause drama in the evening (after last year the key thing is to just make sure it’s not you again). But we can ensure that you look undeniably chic in the Cocktail Silk Onyx, it’s impossible not to in silk. And to anyone who told you black and navy don’t go together; don’t listen to them.

The One Your Ex Is Attending

If there was ever an advert to deter you from dating family friends, forced festive socialising at one of your parents house post break up would really do the job... Whether they were an ex husband or a three month situationship, it’s a lot easier to bump into them when you know you are looking phenomenal. The skirt’s the showstopper whilst the Boyfriend shirt keeps this look relaxed and undone. The result? Nonchalantly sexy. The perfect combo.

The Evening Outdoors

It doesn’t get more festive than heading out to the streets with loved ones to look at the lights, listen to Christmas carols and buy mulled wine. Did anyone else used to go to Christingle? Cute as it is, this is December so that means it’s also very cold. Wrap up in luxurious layers, because dressing practically doesn’t mean sacrificing style. Throw a big coat over our wool blend Weekend Brushed Burgundy shirt for warmth and elevate the look with a glittery socks and heels combo!

The look: Massimo Dutti coat, Cos jeans, Wolford sock, Steve Madden heels

The Annual Christmas Dinner

Everyone’s got that organised friend who’s responsibility in the group is to organise the annual Christmas dinner party. Noone expects her to of course, this is a role she has whole heartedly taken upon herself. All you need to do is turn up looking the part. * Enter the Girlfriend Silk Pearl * We recommend taking a gift for the host too, but everyone brings wine these days, treat her to a cocktail, these ones are delish.

Oh and by the way, we’re really into outfit repeating. Once you’ve found your style, you know it looks good and the shirt is already in your wardrobe.. Why not?
